Why is it… It takes ages to do but it’s messed up in seconds??
2 weeks have passed! Time for the splint to come off, Mia wasn’t so sure but she managed!
Yesterday was her 5th birthday party which was in a play center so made her wear it for that just to be on the safe side. Also wearing it at play time for a few days as she hasn’t calmed down in the slightest!
Trouble is she doesn’t get an xray to see if it has healed…….. helpful eh?!
A few weeks ago Mia decided she wanted her ears piercing, we discussed it and decided she could have them done for her birthday. Took her into town but she then decided she didn’t want them doing because it might make her jump and hurt her a little bit so we went home.
Last week she decided again that she would like them doing so we agreed to take her the next day. We were at Nanny and Grandads in Pickering and were going to Meadow Hall on the way home. The next morning I checked with her again that she wanted doing, Yes she did. All the way to Meadow Hall and when we got to the car park she still wanted them doing. Got to a Jewellers, they wouldn’t do them because she wasn’t 6, so we went to another. They would do them so she waited nicely while another girl had hers done. The girl started to moan that it was stinging and that was it, she didn’t want them doing - cheers little girl !
We chatted to her while we took her shopping for her birthday presents off Nanny and Grandad. Explaining that if she wanted them doing she shouldn’t let the girl put her off as it is over very quickly. So she changed her mind, and we promised her she could have ice-cream and a bath bomb from Lush after.
Took her, she chose her earrings and then sat nicely and had them done. It hurt her a little and she cried when we left, but once she got the ice-cream she was fine. She is being a little star letting me clean them and only moaned the 1st day and the next couple of mornings as she was still tired, later in the day she didn’t mind one bit.
Now she is loving going around proudly showing off her PINK earrings!!!
In the last 2 days I have spent 4.5 hours in QMC.
Mia fell off a climbing frame at afternoon playtime and hurt her arm. Got her home from school and she was still in pain but thought she was just being grumpy because she had a late night the previous night. She banged her arm again and was in more pain than before so off we go to A&E.
Spent 2.5 hours being passed around from Reception to Nurse to Doctor to Xray back to Doctor then nurse & again Reception. Poor little mite has a fracture, her arms buckled in 2 places. She came home with Nurofen, a splint, sling, teddy & stickers all courtesy of the NHS.
We had to go back this morning for her arm to be put into a plaster cast, appointment was for 10:15am so got there for 9:45am and waited nicely. 10:15am came and went got to 10:55am and asked how long we were likely to be. They were running 30-40mins late apparently (had already gone passed that!)!!! Finally was called to see a Doctor and had to wait again. Saw the Doctor (looked at the xrays) to be told she didn’t need plaster, didn’t even check her arm. Needs to wear the splint for 2 weeks and now bouncy castles for 4 weeks after. Now why couldn’t they tell me that last night?
Thankfully her painkillers are working well and she isn’t having the pain today.
Been hanging my nose over some new jewellery for a while now but nothing quite fitted my tastes, been looking tonight and have found a few necklaces with charms that I really like from Tiffany & Co.
I will be 30 (ahem) later this year so may add one to my birthday list, but considering EuroDisney is for my 30th I don’t think I will get very far…. £100 ontop for a chain and charm might be abit too much!
Although after being allowed to spend just over £80 on a Radley bag and purse today you never know ![]()
How typical…..
We go to Spain (Universal Studios, Salou) for a week to catch some sun, we arrive it’s red hot but we have to walk around in our jeans we can not check in for 3 bloody hours. The next 2 days are hot but cooling to eventually get 2 bloody days of blasted rain, 1 of which we are rained in. Luckily the last 2 days are better!
Back home it was brilliant weather all week, we get home to crap weather argh!
Jade finally got chance to do the Tortoise enclosure outside yesterday so Nibbles can get some natural sun, now its raining AGAIN!
Will we get a summer this year????
Yesterday I emailed the Chewits people to find out if I could get hold of any Banana (My Fave) Chewits in the UK. The very kind lady replied and told me that although I can not get them in the UK at the moment they have not ruled bringing back this flavour in the future (woohooo bring them back!). She also told me she would send me some free samples of other flavours to try.
Mr Posties just been and knocked on my door with a parcel for me containing 9 full packs of Chewits goodies. I am so impressed not only were they speedy they were very generous too! I expected a few sweets not packs!!!!!!! I have 3 Vimto, 3 Orange and 3 Chewits Chewies to munch!
SO here I am munching away one some delish Vimto Chewits yummy!!!! (still not as good as the Banana ones though hmph)
Well it’s no secret Mia (Age 4) has been having swimming lessons since coming back from Tenerife. She had 7 sessions in “Splash Class” and has now had 4 lessons in “Beginners” as well as 3 school lessons. Splash class was a confidence building thing, with an adult in the water (a bit like school swimming) not really doing a lot but getting used to the water, and swimming using floats with help. Beginners there is no adult in the water and they use the floats for themselves.
Last night (when I was collecting her from the beginners lesson - having a sneaky peak from the changing rooms) she was showing me how she can go under the water in the few minutes play time they get at the end. Only this time it was different - she actually swam. Asked the teacher and she confirmed yes she was swimming how proud was I.
Today I went with the school lesson again to get Mia dry, but I actually got to go poolside to be a spotter for a change (First time ever!). So I got to watch the whole lesson, not just the little clips on the monitor I usually get to see. I was so proud when she got to have her turns, they even let her have goes with no float!!! What a star
From now on I will be calling her Aerial, my little mermaid princess!!!! ![]()
Well we just had the strangest telephone call. Jade answered the call and they asked to speak Mia ******* about a provisional booking with the local tennis center.
Jade explained that Mia is only 4 and in bed asleep, but checked with me to make sure I hadn’t made the booking. It wasn’t me! And it definitely wasn’t Mia, she doesn’t even know how to use the phone never mind our telephone number which is Ex Directory!!!!
Looks like there’s a prankster on the loose ![]()
