Have been and gone!
We are now in Class 3… or Bluebells as it is now known. Things didn’t go as smoothly as they did in class 1 but we might be getting there… 2 days this week went without a hitch but most of the rest have been quite awkward with madam wanting me to stay at school. I think she misses her old class with all her friends now she has been shipped off into a class with some older children
Just hope that the 2 days this week are a sign that school isn’t so bad after all!
2 weeks have passed! Time for the splint to come off, Little wasn’t so sure but she managed!
Yesterday was her 5th birthday party which was in a play center so made her wear it for that just to be on the safe side. Also wearing it at play time for a few days as she hasn’t calmed down in the slightest!
Trouble is she doesn’t get an xray to see if it has healed…….. helpful eh?!
In the last 2 days I have spent 4.5 hours in QMC.
Little M fell off a climbing frame at afternoon playtime and hurt her arm. Got her home from school and she was still in pain but thought she was just being grumpy because she had a late night the previous night. She banged her arm again and was in more pain than before so off we go to A&E.
Spent 2.5 hours being passed around from Reception to Nurse to Doctor to Xray back to Doctor then nurse & again Reception. Poor little mite has a fracture, her arms buckled in 2 places. She came home with Nurofen, a splint, sling, teddy & stickers all courtesy of the NHS.
We had to go back this morning for her arm to be put into a plaster cast, appointment was for 10:15am so got there for 9:45am and waited nicely. 10:15am came and went got to 10:55am and asked how long we were likely to be. They were running 30-40mins late apparently (had already gone passed that!)!!! Finally was called to see a Doctor and had to wait again. Saw the Doctor (looked at the xrays) to be told she didn’t need plaster, didn’t even check her arm. Needs to wear the splint for 2 weeks and now bouncy castles for 4 weeks after. Now why couldn’t they tell me that last night?
Thankfully her painkillers are working well and she isn’t having the pain today.
Yesterday I emailed the Chewits people to find out if I could get hold of any Banana (My Fave) Chewits in the UK. The very kind lady replied and told me that although I can not get them in the UK at the moment they have not ruled bringing back this flavour in the future (woohooo bring them back!). She also told me she would send me some free samples of other flavours to try.
Mr Posties just been and knocked on my door with a parcel for me containing 9 full packs of Chewits goodies. I am so impressed not only were they speedy they were very generous too! I expected a few sweets not packs!!!!!!! I have 3 Vimto, 3 Orange and 3 Chewits Chewies to munch!
SO here I am munching away one some delish Vimto Chewits yummy!!!! (still not as good as the Banana ones though hmph)
Yayy!!!
Friday the french doors were installed in the hall way, and what a difference they have made
They look fab and keep the hall so much warmer.
The porch is still leaking, but at least we know it isn’t a damp issue, it is coming through the porch itself. J has been out today and sealed more of the gaps in hope….. watch this space!
Well still wet in the corner this morning, even more so after the rain in the night it was a full on puddle. As J isn’t here to tell me what to do today I dried it -after being told yesterday to leave it!!! Goes back into the kitchen for more paper towel and comes back to another puddle…. dries it again and watches for the offending leakage. It’s only coming through the joins in the porch, what a nightmare. We may well be getting there at last well when it stops raining and I can do something about the blasted hole!
First thing I did today was check the porch floor, the corners are still abit damp!
J has been out and sealed the outside of the porch and hopefully that will be it as he noticed a few gaps like there was missing seals grr.
OK I am not a big drinker - let’s get that clear from the start!I like the odd tipple now and again, mainly baileys, Malibu or Martini (take notes!!). So Christmas I was bought a gift set with a wine in, a glass (large!) and some choccies. Ok the glass I thought was great, nice and big for my baileys and plenty of ice. The choc was them Lindt things which I don’t like, no problem sling them in the choccy tin someone else will eat them (J!)….. the wine I wasn’t so sure I don’t drink wine unless it’s £1.99 a bottle and answers to Lambrusco (pop). Anyway I decide to be brave and have a try, it was lovely (Gallo or something), I was shocked to say the least. So off I go to Asda to buy a bottle (or 4!) but can I remember what it is? No! SO I come away with 2 possible options, both of which I actually liked! Being brave I decide to start trying other brands of the same type…. to which I haven’t tried, they are nicely filling the new wine cabinet I had to buy to store my newly found drink! (Along with the other bottles we were bought for our November birthdays & Christmas = years supply of plonk there!) Tonight I am happily sinking a bottle of Blossom Hills Crispy Fruity Rose or something like that… do I like it? Not really but at £5 a bottle I will bloody finish it…. hence the rubbish I am now happily spouting away here in a so called Blog! My face is going numb and I feel the need to wee…. I just hope tomorrow doesn’t have the repercussions usually associated with drinking!!!
Well where do I start? Since we moved in (Spring 2004) the porch has had condensation and cold every winter… 1st few winters put it down to my clothes horse / wet washing causing it, so off load my wet washing else where. I still use the radiator in there and still get abit of a problem but hey ho I need to dry my washing.
Last summer we got round to decorating the stairs and removed the carpet which was starting to smell (Little M had spilt milk in there, so we thought). We put laminate in the porch and carpeted up the stairs, added new concrete in the porch too cos there was a few cracks… problem solved! Apart from it being bloody freezing in there, the answer to that? Curtains!!! Did it work, nope! Still freezing and condensation worse than ever (But the bloody radiator in there is the one that’s not working this year - there is always one!) Well off on our jolly’s we went in January 2008 but got back from Tenerife to a wet (Well damp) laminate floor and a bloody cold house. So we order french doors to separate the hall from the porch, cold problem solved and hopefully the condensation……
It’s the day for my lovely french doors to be fitted, and the poor installation guy brings in the doors ready to fit but he can not for the life of him rotate the doors into an upright position to slot into place. So off he goes with my doors in his van and I have to wait for a Inspector to come pay me a visit. Inspector comes says yes the doors not fit and off he trots too. Well tell me something I don’t know! Not a happy bunny I can tell ya…
Finally, 2 weeks later and we think this is now sorted. They are remaking the doors so that they can get them in….. we will see!! In the mean time I have had the surveyor back out to measure up and to make sure they fit the doors to the concrete this time, not the wooded flooring… which somehow ended up being the case with the other set but that’s another story! When we took the flooring up we found the floor was wet, the condensation problem could now be solved….At last! 2 coats of damp proof later on the floor, and on the brick work outside and I think the floors looking dry but only time will tell.
So hopefully this time next week the doors will be in and we will have a nice warm hallway. The flooring can not go back down (Apart from being soggy it will stink!!!) so hopefully next weekend Jade will put some nice Mocha tiles down IF the damp has been stopped!! Almost £1000 later we may be there….
J decided to set me up on the blog bandwagon so who am I to argue? Well normally I would but as it’s Internet related …..
Just got to think of something interesting to write now!!
